Tenugui Neko Zukushi: Cat scenery by Utagawa Kuniyoshi
19th century Ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi was famous for his love of cats. This design shows cats at the 53 stops along the Tokaido route from Edo (Tokyo) to Kyoto and two further cats at Nihonbashi and Kyoto. Dye specialists Tokyo Wazarashi have combined this design with another by Kuniyoshi's pupil Yoshifuji to create this cat laden print. A tenugui, it is a multi-purpose cloth, handy to wrap your lunchbox or as a gift to the design conscious cat lover.
Made in Tokyo.
