Koishiwara Pottery Daily Plate (17 TPML)
Koishiwara Pottery is a collaboration between a collective of potters in Toho Village and the chef Tomoko Nagao. The range harnesses traditional elements of the Koishiwara style (which is is centred on Toho) with Nagao’s insight into modern Japanese cuisine. The signature of pottery from Koishiwara is concentric marks made by the tobi kanna pottery tool. Here this intricacy is paired with the stylish minimal forms preferred by Nagao. This provides a new context for a traditional craft.
(*In July 2017 Toho was hit by flash flooding following heavy rains. With several kilns working to recover from this, this may be our last stock of Koishiwara Pottery for a little while)
